Alongside your reading the Bible in a Year (about 10 minutes), we are reading a chapter of Proverbs a day in May.
The easiest way to do this is to read at a time of day opposite to when you are reading the Bible in a year-long study. For example, if you do the yearly bible study in the evening, just read a chapter of Proverbs over your morning cup of coffee. It takes about 1 minute to read a chapter.
While I was at Bible college (I attended the former Paradise, now Futures, Bible College in Adelaide, Australia), my lecturer was Mrs Lorraine Evans, the wife of Pastor Andrew Evans. A bit of trivia: I was also the makeup artist and head of their media makeup department, which did the makeup for the photo shoot for his Wikipedia page photo.
Getting the most out of the book Proverbs
While enjoying your morning cuppa, read over the chapter. Does anything stand out to you? You could write down a verse in your journal that stood out to you. At the end of the month, you would have read the book in its entirety. Plus whatever notes you have made.
Proverbs tackles subjects such as discipline and laziness, money, personal relationships, wisdom, health and human behaviour.
Once you have read this book, you will understand the subjects it covers.
Not bad for a minute of time and a cup of coffee.
